Misions
- Study of the relationship between hormones, stress and behavior. Encompasses three major areas of scientific interest:1. Endocrine aspects of mental illness.2. Psychological and biological mechanisms of stress and its role in psychopathology and a worse prognosis of mental illness.3. Psychiatric aspects of endocrine diseases
- To create a research protocol for regulated assessment, with psychometric instruments and biological determinations, of the role of stress in mental disorders. It aims to build a clinical database with common variables that can be used in the study of different mental disorders, as well as creating a hormonal and genetic bank of healthy patients who have agreed to participate in research projects.
- To facilitate the participation of other researchers, residents and masters in the group. There is a special interest in creating links with other IISPV groups, especially with the two existing groups of Pere Mata Research Institute in order to apply the methodological problems related to stress and psychoneuroendocrinology in future research projects.
- To establish national and international collaborations with prestigious researchers interested in the field of psychoneuroendocrinology and the study of stress.
