European Hematology Association (EHA)
EHA’s Career Development program promotes European research in hematology and supports young basic, clinical and experimental researchers in pursuing their career goals by offering a number of fellowship and training opportunities.
Applications are invited from clinical or non-clinical researchers wanting to pursuit research in the field of malignant or non-malignant hematological diseases.
Applications will be considered on any aspect of the study of hematology in its broadest sense including all subspecialties and including but not limited to molecular biology and biochemistry, virology, immunology, cell biology, epidemiology and diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
There are three categories of EHA Research Fellowships: Clinical Research Fellowships, Non-Clinical Junior Research Fellowships and Non-Clinical Advanced Research Fellowships.
General:
- Applicants must be an MD or PhD.
- Applicants must be a member of EHA at the time of application.
- The host mentor must assume responsibility and provide guidance for the research.
- The sponsoring facility must be an academic institution. The EHA does not provide institutional overheads.
- Applicants may be of any nationality but either the home or host institute must be located within Europe.
- Movement between institutions and/or countries is encouraged.
- These fellowships are not aimed at established group leaders. However applications may be considered from individuals within two years of starting their first independent group leader position.
Specific:
Clinical Research Fellowships: For clinicians with a PhD or equivalent qualification who wish to consolidate their research training or who are establishing their own independent research groups.
Non-Clinical Junior Research Fellowships: For non-medical scientists with 1 – 4 years of postdoctoral experience.
Non-Clinical Advanced Research Fellowships: For non-medical scientists with 4 or more years of postdoctoral experience.
