Internationalisation

The internationalisation of all the activity that takes place at the IISPV is one of the Institute's priorities, as seen in the International Objectives of the Strategic Plan (2018-21), which prioritise the following tasks:

• To enhance the international visibility of IISPV's scientific activity.
• To boost the participation and success rate of our research groups in the European Framework Programs.
• To create national and European alliances with other clinical research centres, particularly in the IISPV's research  programs.
• To promote collaboration with other international players (e.g. industry, NGOs, technological centres, etc.) for the development of interdisciplinary work.Align the strategy with the research and innovation policies of the Board

All the international activities taking place at IISPV are coordinated by the International Projects Unit (IPU).

In 2018, the leadership teams of the IISPV and the 'Universitat Rovira i Virgili' (URV) agreed to create an inter-institutional collaboration for the promotion of the research groups work at international level. As a result, there was a process of centralisation and specialisation to better coordinate all the international efforts in the different fields through an inter-campus office. Under this new office, the IISPV is responsible for all the campus activities within the life sciences and health domains (from basic to applied research).

With this new organisational structure will boost the international presence of the work done by the IISPV and URV research groups. A better exposure of our work will support the development of innovative and sustainable solutions to tackle the health challenges that our patient community faces.
