Misions
The research group in surgery is a group that currently combines clinical research and experimental research, interacting with other groups and disciplines at the same time.
- Clinical research on morbid obesity. Bariatric surgery in humans and animal studies: one of the priority lines is the surgery of morbid obesity, where we are a state reference group for this type of surgery. Experimental surgery and continued training in this field by group members make a tripod on which we can project.
- Other lines such as abdominal wall surgery are also supported in these premises. The objective of the group is to stay in these lines and establish new ones always with the scientific support and endorsement of the training and learning.
- Teaching by our group is also an essential part of our work, where teaching innovation and the application of new teaching strategies such as the endoscopy simulation and the surgical abilities laboratory represent such a stimulus for us as well as for students.
