Scope

This Fellowship provides intuitive medical oncology researchers the opportunity to receive training in translational research in an European centre of excellence in medicine and therapeutic innovation in the field of oncology and cancer immunology.
The Georges Mathé Translational Research Fellowship is designed to support young and promising scientist working in the field of oncology and cancer immunology and is intended to:
• Contribute to the development of translational research medicine and therapeutic innovation in the field of oncology and cancer immunology
• Provide training in translational research in European centres with an international reputation in the field
• Improve early career development through collaboration with European institutions of excellence
• Provide the necessary support to develop specific high-quality translational research projects in oncology
 

Requirements

• Be a Full or Junior ESMO member in good standing at the time of application.
• Be involved in cancer research and treatment with at least two years experience in medical oncology
• Be under the age of 40
• Be proficient in English

Documents to be presented

• Completed online application form
• Digital photograph
• Detailed description of research project proposal including timeline
• Brief statement of project goals and how the acquired techniques will be used in the home institute/country
• Name of host institute and acceptance letter from the person responsible for the project at the host facility
• Letter of recommendation from the candidate’s department head
• A letter of acceptance with details of project proposal from the person responsible at the host facility
