Biobank

The Biobank platform is a biological sample repository available to IISPV researchers, external researchers or other personnel who require our services.

1. Creating a new sample collection: advice on current legislation on use and storage of biological samples, protocols, type of specimens to process and storage optimisation.
2. Temporary and long term registration and storage of biological samples.
3. Processing of solid and liquid biological samples.
4. Sample processing such asseparation of blood cells, isolation of DNA and RNA, serum / plasma and tissues, among others.
5. Transformation of lymphocytes in lymphoblastoid lines through the Virus Epstein Barr technique.
6. Shipment of biological samples to other destinations (national and international) following IATA requirements.
7. Management and quality control of private collections.

IISPV Biobank facilities

The IISPV Biobank is under a single governance framework that manages three sites in Reus,Tarragona and Tortosa.

Reus (Hospital Universitari de Sant Joan)
