La Unitat de micologia i microbiologia ambiental de l'IISPV, liderada pel Dr. Josep Guarro i la Dra. Maria José Figueras, ha estat designada com ambaixadora a Espanya de l'American Society for Microbiology (ASM).
Aquest nomenament es una gran oportunitat per estrenyer i potenciar les connexions de la comunitat científica espanyola amb la resta de països en materia de la microbiologia.
The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is the oldest and largest single life science society in the world. Currently, the society is comprised of over 40,000 members, of which 46 percent reside outside of the United States. The mission of ASM is “to advance the microbiological sciences as a vehicle for understanding life processes and to apply and communicate this knowledge for the improvement of health and environmental and economic wellbeing worldwide.”
