Organitza: Annually, the Canon Foundation in Europe grants up to 15 Fellowships to highly qualified European and Japanese researchers. European nationals should have permanent citizenship in the country. The candidates hold a doctorate or at least a Master’s degree. They are eligible during the ten-year period following the successful completion of their PhD or MA degree. Extensions to the ten-year rule are possible in principle in case of exceptional circumstances which should be explained in the application and supporting documents are required. The European Fellowship holders pursue a period of research in Japan whereas the Japanese Fellows do their research at host institutions in Europe. The Fellowships are awarded for periods of minimum three months and maximum one year. The Fellowships are awarded regardless of discipline and existing employment positions.

Organitza: The Epilepsy Foundation supports a series of grants and fellowships to advance the understanding of epilepsy that will lead to better treatment, more effective prevention, and ultimately to a cure. Funding is available to researchers at all professional levels including students, junior investigators and established investigators. Research and Training Fellowships for Clinicians •Award Amount: up to $50,000 maximum for one year •Program guidelines •Apply via Proposal Central website •Proposal Central website tip: filter the list to show Epilepsy Foundation programs The Research and Training Fellowships for Clinicians is for clinically trained professionals. This fellowship is one-year of supervised study and research. Individuals with an M.D. or D.O. who will have completed residency training in neurology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, internal medicine, or psychiatry by the time the fellowship commences may apply. Other clinically trained professionals (i.e. PharmD, Doctor of Nursing) are also eligible to apply.

Organitza: Alzheimer’s Research UK has a large number of different grant schemes through which you can apply for funding.  Our Clinical Research Fellowships are for up to three years and provide salary (SpR, registrar level, or on equivalent university scales) and a contribution towards research/travel costs. These costs are normally for up to £10,000 per annum but ARUK will consider requests for up to £15,000 per annum if there is sufficient justification with inherently costly research (eg imaging, animal work). The scheme is suitable for Clinical Psychiatrists, Clinical Neurologists, Clinical Psychologists and similar specialists. Prospective Fellows must have secured a supervisor (a senior established investigator in the institution where the Fellowship is to be held). The supervisor will provide the facilities required for the research programme, will have oversight of the Fellow and their research programme, and will actively contribute to the further training of the Fellow. The Fellowship must be applied for by the prospective Fellow, not the supervisor. There are two application rounds each year. Before applying for the full Clinical Research Fellowship please check that this is the most suitable scheme; we also fund a one year Preparatory Clinical Research Fellowship.
