Organitza: Under the Transatlantic Networks of Excellence in Cardiovascular Research Program the Fondation Leducq awards grants of up to U.S. $6,000,000 over five years for internationally collaborative research in cardiovascular and neurovascular disease. As of 2013, the foundation has supported 39 networks, representing more than 360 investigators at 123 institutions in 18 countries. More information about the Transatlantic Networks of Excellence Program is available through the links below. Starting in the 2013-2014 application cycle the Fondation Leducq will use a web-based application system hosted by Altum ProposalCENTRAL. The system will be available in mid-July. At that time applicants can follow the links from the Fondation Leducq website to the application website. The materials needed for the application will remain the same, and can be found under “Applications” below.

Organitza: The European Science Foundation invites researchers to submit proposals for high-level research conferences within the framework of its Research Conferences Scheme in the following scientific domain: •Molecular Biology+ In the framework of their partnership, ESF and EMBO jointly fund multidisciplinary conferences to promote links between molecular biologists and other scientists in Europe, giving them an opportunity to discuss common themes and exchange cross-disciplinary results. Organitza: One of the main pillars of the ESF ConGenomics networking programme is to organise and/or support the organisation of scientific meetings and workshops. In 2013, a call will be announced for the organisation of a scientific meeting or workshop within the field of conservation genomics. The scientific meeting or workshop should primarily focus at PhD students and postdocs who have some background knowledge in genetics and conservation biology, and who show a strong interest in learning more about topics specifically related to the application of genomic techniques in conservation biology. The workshop can include oral sessions with invited and registered participants, plenary discussions and poster presentation sessions. We invite proposals for organising a scientific meeting or workshop in 2013. The meeting will have to be on topics within the scope of ConGenOmics, which include: - development and transfer of genomic knowledge and approaches in a conservation context - experimental study of the (genomic) mechanisms behind important biological processes of relevance for conservation - application and development of data handling and processing strategies in conservation genomics - application of community and metagenomics in conservation biological context The meeting should have a European dimension. A maximum of Euro 25000 is available for organization. Please carefully read the ESF guidelines for organising science meetings.

Organitza: La convocatòria s’adreça a experts i científics reconeguts vinculats a entitats de recerca del país, que exercirien de líders científics (partner) de les propostes. Aquests experts únicament podran presentar una proposta per convocatòria. En cas de ser seleccionada per al Programa d’activitats anual, el líder científic haurà de confirmar formalment a B·Debate el suport a la proposta per part de l’entitat de recerca a la que està vinculat. Els investigadors que presenten una proposta a la convocatòria hauran d’incloure el seu CV on acrediti clarament el camp científic en el que està treballant i la vinculació a un centre de recerca del país.

De entre las líneas de de investigación abiertas en esta convocatoria destacamos la del área de salud: patologías infecciosas, crónicas, degenerativas y genéticas cuyos objetivos son mejorar las condiciones de salud de la población de Iberoamérica potenciando el desarrollo, evaluación, utilización y transferencia de modernas tecnologías, innovaciones, y recursos humanos en los ámbitos relativos a enfermedades infecciosas, salud pública y epidemiología, biotecnología médica, enfermedades crónicas y degenerativas, productos terapéuticos, profilácticos y diagnósticos, mediante la sinergia entre los participantes, que atiendan las múltiples necesidades derivadas de la diversidad ambiental y del índice de desarrollo entre los diferentes países.
