Organitza: Program description: The CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program supports qualified young scientists at leading universities and research centers around the world who wish to receive training in cancer immunology. A panel of scientists drawn from our Scientific Advisory Council rigorously evaluates each candidate, the intended sponsor and training environment, and the nature and feasibility of the proposed project. The Institute seeks hypothesis driven, mechanistic studies in both immunology and tumor immunology. The applicant and sponsor must clearly state the potential of the proposed studies to directly impact our understanding of the immune system’s role in cancer risk, tumor initiation, progression, metastasis, host response to tumors and/or the treatment of cancer. Elegibility - Applicants for the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program must be working in areas directly related to cancer immunology. An eligible project must fall into the broad field of immunology and must show relevance to solving the cancer problem. Proposals that do not encompass both these areas will not be considered. - Applicants must have a doctoral degree by the date of award activation and must conduct their proposed research under a sponsor who holds a formal appointment at the host institution. - Applicants with 5 or more years of relevant postdoctoral experience are not eligible, with the exception of M.D. applicants, who should not include years of residency in this calculation. - Only in exceptional circumstances will applicants who have already spent 3 or more years in a sponsor’s laboratory by the start date of fellowship be considered for a fellowship award. The fellowship can be performed in the United States or abroad, but must take place at a non-profit institution. There are no citizenship restrictions. Only one fellow per sponsor may apply per application round, and faculty sponsors may not have more than three CRI-supported fellows at any time. Financial information: The fellowship provides a stipend of $50,000 for the first year, $53,000 for the second year, and $57,000 for the third year. In addition, an allowance of $1,500 per year is allotted to the host institution for use at the sponsor’s discretion to help pay for the fellow’s research supplies, travel to scientific meetings, and/or health insurance. Fellowships can be activated three months after the application deadline but no later than one year following the deadline. Awards activate on the first of the month.

Organitza: Clinic and Laboratory Integration Programa (CLIP) - The Cancer Research Institute Eligibility guidelines CLIP Grants provide funding for qualified scientists who are working to explore clinically relevant questions aimed at improving the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapies. The grant will support basic, pre-clinical, and translational research, which will provide information that can be directly applied to optimizing cancer immunotherapy in the clinic. Candidates for a CLIP Grant must hold a faculty appointment as a tenure-track assistant professor (or higher rank) at the time of award activation. CRI has no citizenship restrictions, and research supported by the award may be conducted at medical schools and research centers in the United States or abroad. Please note that CLIP Grants do not support research at for-profit institutions. Financial information: CLIP Grants provide up to $100,000 per year for two years. The funds may be used for salary, technical assistance, supplies, capital equipment, or scientific travel. CRI does not provide funds for indirect costs. Payments are made quarterly in U.S. currency to the host institution. The process for applying for a CLIP Grant consists of two parts: Letter of Intent-->Invited Application

Organitza: Ayudas a proyectos dirigidos a personas con discapacidad para la Cooperación e Inclusión Social de Personas con Discapacidad 2013.  Realización de programas de integración social y prestaciones sociales para personas con discapacidad física, psíquica, sensorial o mental, destacando prioritariamente la formación y el empleo, así como la accesibilidad global y la superación de barreras de cualquier clase. Beneficiarios: - Cualquier entidad de nacionalidad española, dotada de personalidad jurídica que, con arreglo a sus estatutos, desarrolle una actividad coincidente con la que lleva a cabo la Fundación ONCE. Se contempla particularmente en este grupo a las entidades sin fines lucrativos en el ámbito del movimiento asociativo de personas con discapacidad, es decir, asociaciones, federaciones, fundaciones y confederaciones en los distintos ámbitos de actuación geográfica. - Cualquier persona física de nacionalidad española afectada por cualquier tipo de discapacidad. A estos efectos será imprescindible que dicha persona esté en posesión del correspondiente certificado de minusvalía emitido por la Administración Pública competente

Organitza: Fundació Agrupació – XX Convocatoria de Premios en el ámbito de las Personas Mayores   Objeto: Premiar un proyecto de investigación de base científica que se quiera llevar a cabo en el ámbito de las personas mayores. Se pretende premiar e incentivar la investigación a la creatividad que pueda resultar en diferentes ámbitos geriátricos, como por ejemplo: enfermedades o deterioros de especial incidencia en la vejez, alimentación y dietética, actividad física, hábitat y otros equivalentes. En síntesis, el Premio quiere fomentar el avance en un objetivo global de toda sociedad como es el de dar mejor calidad de vida a la gente mayor. Beneficiarios: Podrán optar al Premio todos los profesionales titulados, bien de forma individual o en equipo, así como las personas jurídicas, públicas o privadas, que desarrollen su actividad dentro del ámbito del Estado español.

Beneficiarios: Podrán optar al Premio todos los profesionales titulados, bien de forma individual o en equipo, así como las personas jurídicas, públicas o privadas, que desarrollen su actividad dentro del ámbito del Estado español.

Organitza: Fundació Agrupació – VI Convocatoria de Premio en el ámbito de la Discapacidad Objeto: Premiar un proyecto de investigación de base científica que se quiera llevar a cabo con el objetivo de favorecer y promocionar la autonomía de las personas que presentan una discapacidad o un trastorno mental severo a partir de proyectos dirigidos a promover su inclusión social y laboral. Beneficiarios: Podrán optar al Premio todos los profesionales titulados, bien de forma individual o en equipo, así como las personas jurídicas, públicas o privadas, que desarrollen su actividad dentro del ámbito del Estado español. Importe: Proyecto de investigación: 15.000 euros, que serán entregados en dos plazos. El primero, al ser concedido el Premio y el segundo, una vez presentada la memoria de todo el trabajo realizado, al finalizar el segundo semestre.

Organitza: Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer, Inc. (WOKC) is a Dallas-based nonprofit organization founded in 1980 dedicated to raising awareness and funding pediatric cancer research on a national basis. WOKC’s mission is to work relentlessly for the day when all children are living cancer free. Research Grants are offered to encourage the development of new information that contributes to the understanding, treatment, and cure of pediatric cancers. In addition, consideration will be given to those projects that provide insight into information that may contribute to the development of new therapies for pediatric cancers. All proposals must be hypothesis driven, and sufficient preliminary data must be provided to justify the WOKC support. Information derived from these studies should have high potential for sustainable future support from other funding agencies, such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Organitza: The Bayer Hemophilia Awards Program demonstrates Bayer's commitment to the bleeding disorders community and to advancing the state of the art of hemophilia care. This award recognizes the essential role of caregivers and allied health care professionals in the care of patients with hemophilia. It is designed to support their role by promoting education, training and other activities in the field of hemophilia. This may include, but is not limited to, the development of educational experiences (for patients, other caregivers and/or the applicant), counseling initiatives, seminars/symposia, written and electronic materials, websites and other communication tools and services. The criteria by which applications will be judged include: Clarity of rationale and objectives Strength of plan, including project’s objective and how these will be measured Importance and potential impact of project Plans for dissemination of project’s findings

Organitza: The Bayer Hemophilia Awards Program demonstrates Bayer's commitment to the bleeding disorders community and to advancing the state of the art of hemophilia care. This award is intended to facilitate the development of clinical and research expertise in the field of hemophilia for applicants who have completed medical training and have an interest in pursuing a career as a hemophilia clinician. The award will support a mentored physician for two years, who will be expected to undertake both a research project as well as clinical training. The criteria by which applications will be judged include: Merit of applicant and approach Design and rationale of research project Design and rationale of the proposed clinical training program. Potential for successful development of the applicant as a clinical expert in the treatment of hemophilia Mentor and learning environment. Commitment of applicant and mentor to hemophilia

Organitza: The Bayer Hemophilia Awards Program demonstrates Bayer's commitment to the bleeding disorders community and to advancing the state of the art of hemophilia care. This award will fund salary support and research funds for a junior faculty member who wishes to undertake a mentored basic and/or clinical research project in the bleeding disorders field. Examples of topics for research projects that might be considered for these awards include, but are not limited to: Clinical studies Properties and delivery of clotting factor proteins Assays and models Genetics and epidemiology Molecular aspects and mechanisms of clotting factor inhibitor formation.
